El Peloton de la Muerte Mezcal Artesanal is produced by Cutberto Santiago, in the central valleys of Oaxca. The label for El Peloton de la Muerte, which means Squadron of Death coming from Mexico's Independence in 1821.
The Agave Espadin was cooked in stone pit covered with lava rocks, crushed with a horse drawn tahona, after which it fermented for four days in wood vats using natural fermentation. It is then double distilled in small copper stills.
