Without question, the mezcals of Real Minero are some of the greatest in the world. They are also some of the most traditional. Since 1898, over four generations of the esteemed Angeles Carreno family have kept the flame of classic mezcal burning bright, with the same fiery intensity that sets them apart from the pack. Always made in very small batches on artisanal 70-liter pot stills made of clay, this rare bottling produced fewer than 200 bottles from a batch of Agave Largo (A. karwinskii) found growing wild in the mountains. Fruit-driven, tropical, delicate, and laced with minerality, like the sole agave used to produce it this is a singular drinking experience worthy of the gods.
