Hirsch whiskey is a reference to AH Hirsch from the famous Michter's distillery of Pennsylvania. That distillery went out of business in 1988 and it appears the remaining stock was purchased by Preiss Imports, whom we presume owns the label. There's a lot of confusion over the source and legacy on the various Hirsch label bottlings... as best we can determine, this is blended in Kentucky with the lots of whiskey owned by Preiss Imports. Hirsch Selection corn whiskey has a grain base of 80% corn and is an homage to original Kentucky corn whiskeys. From the filing with the Tax and Trade Bureau, it appears the whiskey is produced/bottled at Kentucky Bourbon Distillers.
