From the Norse ‘Valknut’ meaning ‘knot of those slain in battle’, this limited edition is a celebration of the Nordic belief in connections between life and death. The second edition in Highland Park's three-part Viking Legend series, this is the most intensely peated whisky Highland Park has ever released in the US. Aromas of rich smoke and earthy leather layer atop butterscotch, nut brittle, and fresh cedar wood. Flavors of sweet malt balance with dark, peppery spice and woodsy notes. The finish is long and smoky. A Double Gold winner at the San Francisco World Spirits competition upon release, this excellent special edition represents another well-deserved trophy in the Highland Park case.
