Frey Ranch Vodka

Our vodka is made with four different grains; corn, rye, wheat and barley, which is not typical of other vodkas. This increases its complexity and gives it a creamy texture, which is hard to find in other vodkas. Most other vodkas are only one variety for ease of handling by the distillery. You could say we are overachievers by using 4 different grains. From the start there are ways to make the grains better quality for distilling, but this almost always leads to lower yields in the fields. If we bought grain on the open market, we would not know what was done in the grain growing process. We would expect the grain farmer to do whatever it took for the highest yield/quantity, not the best quality. Being an estate distillery, we have total control over every aspect of the process. We plant, irrigate, harvest, store, mill, cook the mash, ferment, distill, age and bottle right here at Frey Ranch. By growing the grains ourselves we value quality over quantity. You can taste this in our finished product. Our vodka is distilled to 98% or 196 proof and then cut to 40% or 80 proof as it travels through three different stills.
