This does not taste like the stuff you drank too much of that one night in college. Where many spiced rums suffocate under too much sugar and vanilla flavoring, ours contains very little added sugar, no vanilla, and a whole slew of unusual botanicals. Baking spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice form its core, but herbaceous and savory additions like lemon verbena, caraway, cumin, and fenugreek take us into a firm chai tea-like territory. Spicy, earthy, herbaceous, savory, and citrusy- it’s a very unusual spirit.
