Situated on the North end of the Island, this Distillery was established in 1881. Unusual for an Islay Single Malt, being lightly peated in contrast to its fiery Southern neighbors. Alexander Murray brings you this rare Bottling of Islay Single Malt Distilled in 1989, matured for 23 years in Oak Casks. This Islay 23 year old whisky is a great beginner for anyone who is interested it trying a Islay Single Malt but does not want to have that overpowering taste of smoke and iodine. It has just the right complexity of sweetness and smoke. It is golden in color, the nose releases honey nuts & a slightly sea salt tang. Chewy on the palate, with more Oak wood flavors. Well balanced, again with a light salted finish.
