We run a second distillation on our smaller 75 gallon still adding botanicals such as lavender, bay leaf, thyme and lemon. Death's Door Gin has a surprisingly simple botanical mix of juniper berries, coriander and fennel. Using juniper berries that grow wild on Washington Island with coriander and fennel sourced in the region when available. Death's Door Gin is able to showcase how complementary and complex simple expressions can be. Death's Door Gin has a full London Dry flavor without all of the bitterness because of our extraction process and the base spirit we use (i.e., our vodka). In fact, you can taste all three botanicals: loaded juniper berries up front; spicy, citrusy notes from the coriander seeds in the mid-palate; and a soft, cooling finish provided by the fennel seeds. Death's Door Gin is big enough to stand up to classic or vintage cocktail treatment, but soft enough to be enjoyed on the rocks or as a dry martini. It truly is the "utility" gin of our time.

Our corn-based vodka is comprised of Wisconsin-grown organic yellow dent corn produced by family farmers. After we crafted our Vodka recipe, we went back to the drawing board and dreamed about all of the different ways we could mess with it. The logical next step was to transform our vodka into a flavorful gin - since gin is essentially vodka flavored with juniper berries and other botanicals. We tinkered and toiled with the recipe but couldn't agree on anything because we all loved different botanicals. We picked our favorites and pitted them against each other in blind head-to-head challenges. Over the long Wisconsin winter, we narrowed it down to the final six.

We’re never quite content with the ordinary. A while back we were sharing some drinks with our friends at Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery (it seems the best ideas come to us this way). I’m not sure who said it first but someone made the comment that Lakefront’s Pumpkin Lager could make an interesting distilled spirit …and so the tests began. As it turned out, interesting didn’t even begin to describe the resulting spirit. We liked the result and after tweaking & aging, we liked it a lot! We’re pleased to finally be able to share it with you. But, it’s only available for a limited time and a limited number of bottles.

Distilled from organic rye and a pinch of organic wheat, this spirit is intentionally aged for no more than a couple of weeks in a combination of used charred oak barrels and toasted oak barrels that are made with white American oak. This process allows the spice of the rye and the sweetness of the wheat to shine through with just a kiss of oak. This intricately balanced Gin is crafted using only locally sourced Wisconsin organic botanicals. With it’s clean spearmint finish and subtle hints of cardamom and ginseng- it’s sure to capture your palette.

A pioneer in the whisky category, Death's Door White Whisky has an 80:20 mash bill of Washington Island Wheat to malted barley from Chilton, Wisconsin. The spirit is then double-distilled up to 160 proof (80% abv), rested in stainless steel and finished in uncharred Minnesota oak barrels to help bring the "white whisky" together and to meld this unique spirits' flavors. The bouquet is one part "South of the Border": artisanal cachaça, tequila; and one part "Eastern": sweet potato shochu/soju and earthy sake. Yet, the palate is unmistakably whisky: a smooth double-distilled varietal with vanilla, chocolate covered raisin, and dark cherry flavors.

Jameson Whiskey is produced from a mixture of malted and unmalted Irish barley. To the nose, Jameson is clearly a mellow pot still whiskey with toasted wood and sherry undertones. Jameson's taste is distinctively smooth and sweet with mild woody and nutty notes. Incredibly smooth is the only way to describe the finish.
