Willie’s-Devil’s-Brigade-Whiskey
DAS DICKE ENDE KOMMT NOCH! “THE WORST IS YET TO COME” was written on the death cards placed upon dead Nazis by the Devil’s Brigade. Officially known as the First Special Service Force, the Devil’s Brigade trained at Fort Harrison near Helena, Montana, and was comprised of Back-Country Rangers, Soldiers, Lumberjacks, Northwoodsmen, Hunters, Prospectors, Explorers, Game Wardens, and Mountain Men who volunteered to join the secretive unit in 1942 during WWII. This joint American-Canadian commando unit was known for their stealth and skill with the V-42 dagger and had quickly gained the nickname “Black Devils” and a reputation for their fierce style of fighting at night in blackened faces. Made of 60% American Bourbon and 40% Canadian Whisky just like the percentage of men assigned to the Unit, this blend of whiskies is our way of honoring the bravery and valor of these men who fought in World War II with distinction. The legacy continues with current American and Canadian Special Operations Forces who trace their lineage and heritage to the “Forcemen.” A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Special Forces Association Chapter XXVIII “Devil’s Brigade Chapter,” which is a non-profit veterans service organization based in Montana. www.SFA28.org

Ridge-Distillery-Extrait-d’Absinthe-Verte
Ridge Distillery is located in the mountains of Kalispell, Montana and founded by Joe and Jules Legate. They say their tart came from first growing and then selling herbs for tea and eventually gin and absinthe. In fact, they say they first found Grand Wormwood (the key ingredient of absinthe) growing as a volunteer (weed) right outside their front door--this was the true genesis of Ridge Distillery. Then, in their words, "Since we were fans of those liquors, it didn't take long for us to consider starting our own micro distillery as well!" To this day, they grow many of their own herbs for use in spirits. Their spirits are made in traditional copper pot stills, with their particular still from Portugal. Ridge Distillery Absinthe Verte uses herbs grown on their 15 acre site in Montana where they feel the mountain air and climate makes some of the best herbs. One of their principal home-grown herbs includes grand wormwood, the key (and notorious) ingredient for absinthe. They regard their absinthe verte as a traditional recipe, using grand wormwood, green anise, fennel, coriander, angelica, elecampane, melissa, and roman wormwood. It is blended from a base of grain spirit and blended with Rocky Mountain spring water.

The nose will open with touches of light fruit: pear, apple, and caramelized bananas, as well as soft barley. On the palate, the sweet malty grain flavor will dominate and then finish with the stronger barrel notes of vanilla, more caramelized banana, toffee, and a bit of tannin spice. A touch of smoke may linger in the background from the barrel char. It will warm as it goes down…

Montana Honey Moonshine is made with three Montana grains and a special kind of molasses – kind of a whiskey and rum hybrid. It is lightly barrel aged and sweetened with local honey made by the same bees that pollinate the crops, apple trees, and flowers sold at the Ennis Farmer’s Market. Smooth and sweet, Montana Honey Moonshine is meant to be sipped on the rocks or mixed in your favorite whiskey drink.

Chokecherry Liqueur. This is sweet and slightly tart like the native chokecherries that grow in the Montana foothills. The Chokecherries are locally harvested in the surrounding area by us and our friends – some were even gathered in our back yard. Drink Wild Montana Chokecherry Liqueur after a meal or on a hot summer day over ice. It is also excellent with a spritz of soda water.

Vilya-Spirits-Absinthe-Verte
Vilya Spirits Absinthe Verte is made with the finest botanicals, grown and wild crafted from the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We honor the best traditions of over a century ago in making this classic spirit. Grand wormwood, green anise, fennel, coriander, angelica, and elecampane are distilled with grain neutral spirits. After distillation, more botanicals are then infused into the spirits providing additional flavor, aroma, and the natural emerald hue for which absinthe is famous. Finally our spirits are then combined with Rocky Mountain spring water to recreate this romantic beverage from the Belle Époque.
