Armagnac is a distinctive kind of brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, southwest France. It is distilled from wine usually made from a blend of grapes including Baco 22A, Colombard, Folle Blanche, and Ugni Blanc. Wikipedia
Larressingle produces a complete range of armagnac, reflecting the know-how of our successive cellar masters. In the purest Gascony tradition,
The Napoleon range is the link between VSOP and XO eaux-de-vie. For lovers of balanced and distinguished eaux-de-vie.
The opening aroma is atypical but following aeration the aroma becomes more of a customary Armagnac perfume as scents of sweet oak, prunes, cocoa, spice and raisins meld. The palate entry is assertive, sweet and raisiny; at midpalate a brief flash of spirit is followed by fat flavors of sautéed butter, almond paste, nougat and dark honey. Aftertaste is rich, long and sweet.
Aged 15 years and distilled from mostly the hybrid Baco grape, Château de Briat Hors d’Age is big, rich, and round brandy brings to mind that chubby guy who is, to everyone’s surprise, an excellent dancer. Aromas of licorice and tobacco smoke, comforting flavors of candied nuts, chocolate, and dried fig, leading to a warm, enveloping finish.

A blend of great Armagnacs aged for at least four years in oak casks, this product has a bronzed amber colour, an intense, well-balanced bouquet and a long finish with spiced notes of plum, vanilla and forest growth.
The youngest of the brandies in this typical Bas-Armagnac blend was aged in oak barrels, in our cellars, for at least 15 years. An intense bouquet, steeped with the aromas of freshly baked bread, toast and underlying candied fruit. Fresh, supple and well-rounded on the palate, revealing a subtle union of vanilla oak and fruit. Good length, with the aromas of dried fruit and toast on the finish.
Our splendid Fine Armagnac XO de Caussade is a perfect balance of floral and fruity notes, which are unique to its native Armagnac vintages. It has hints of violet, highly appreciated by connoisseurs and an undeniable subtlety. A distinct vanilla character enhances the pleasure of the liqueur, which reveals lightness, body and an admirable length on the palate.
Domaine D'Esperance, a formerly abandoned estate on a hillside in the Sables Fauves of Gascony, was purchased and renovated in 1990 by Jean-Louis and Claire de Montesquiou. The estate's fruit-forward armagnac is produced with Baco 22A and Folle Blanche grown in the sandy clay soil of Grand-Bas-Armagnac at the border of the Landes and the Gers at Mauvezin d'Armagnac. After the grapes undergo natural fermentation, the wine is distilled in a traditional Armagnac still and then matured in gascon oak barrels. Domaine D'Esperance 5 Year Old Bas Armagnac is a blend of three different vintages which have been matured in gascon oak casks for at least five years. An enticing nose of dried fruit, caramel, spicy vanilla and black peppercorn gives way to a lively, medium-bodied palate boasting flavors of toffee, espresso, almond, tobacco leaf and pine. Notes of raisin and spicy oak linger through the clean, assertive finish. Product of France Alcohol by Volume: 40%
A blend of 3 to 5 year-old Armagnac made from Ugni Blanc and Baco grapes. Notes of honey and dried plums. Soft and smooth, with a satisfying sweetness on the palate. While the Gelas family can trace its origins in Gascony back through the centuries, Maison Gelas Armagnac was founded in 1865 and has been in its present location in Vic Fezensac ever since. The firm is now run by the engaging Philippe Gelas, who represents the 4th generation of the Gelas family at the helm. Today the production follows the techniques of distillation traditional to the region, but the marketing is modern and innovative. Philippe Gelas offers a wide range of styles of Bas Armagnac and imaginative presentations. Most importantly, the vague old designations such as Reserve and Hors d’Age have been replaced by precise statements of age such as 8 years, 18 years, and 25 years, complemented by an essential entry-level “Selection.”
A beautiful shade of old rum. A fine, elegant, subtle bouquet with no austerity. The oak reveals a hint of vanilla, enhanced by traces of cinnamon and dried fruit. The esters produce cocoa and vanilla aromas. A strong, well-balanced palate releases flavours of spices and currants. The finish has spicy undertones, with marked vanilla, prunes and dried fruit.

One of our favorite Negociants in the Armagnac world is Francis Darroze. His specialty is buying brandy from small producers scattered around Gascony, and finishing the brandy is his cellars. They are all bottled at cask strength, and bottled as vineyard designated, vintage-dated Armagnacs. Each one is a masterpiece.

In Larressingle, two centuries of tradition yield the single best-selling Armagnac in the United States. Larressingle VSOP Armagnac is produced from a cross-vintage blend of Armagnacs of not less than eight years of age, as opposed to the legal minimum of five, and exclusively from wines from the Bas Armagnac and Ténarèze districts. To produce the light, smooth texture expected in the finest Armagnacs, 20% of the blend is double-distilled. This Armagnac is supple and full-fruited, with a rich, smoky bouquet reminiscent of prunes and a lingering, mellow finish.
