A rare single barrel bottling of Ocho's Añejo tequila, bottled at an almost unheard of cask strength. This is about as close to drinking tequila straight from the wood, and is a great example of the brand's spirit focused style.
Aged in ex-American Whiskey barrels for one year Made with 100% Blue Agave.
Tomas Estes and the Camarena family are the founders of Tequila Ocho single estate tequilas. This one, La Magueyera, is a name honoring the maguey plants themselves. The agaves used to make this tequila were grown in gray clay soil on south-facing slopes, which get full sunlight on the average day. Their añejo is aged for one year in very used American whiskey barrels which become “neutralized” and is therefore able to retain as much true agave flavor as possible.
An estate-grown, 100% Blue Agave Tequila range, OCHO is produced as a collaboration between Tomas Estes (the man credited with bringing the first bottle of Tequila to Europe) and renowned distillers, the Camarena family. What's really unique about OCHO is that it bears the first ever 'Tequila vintage'. This 'Vintage' signifies the exact year of harvest and location of the Agave plants that the spirit was derived from, under-lining the finely balanced relationship between the terroir and quality of raw materials. OCHO Reposado is rested for precisely 8 weeks and 8 days for the unparalleled smoothness and complexity which mark a truly great sipping Tequila.

OCHO’s Plata is un-aged and honors the noble agaves of Arandas and the Camarena “Ranchos” through intense, lively, bright and clean flavors, typically with strong legs indicating some viscosity. No additives are ever added to Tequila OCHO, so with Plata, you are tasting the truest essence of the agave plant. Proof that terroir exists in agave.
