Rhum J.M 110 Proof Blanc is a true expression of character and terroir - which the volcanic soil of Mount Pelee and the humid climate in northern Martinique contribute heavily to. This degree of proof is typical in Martinique and only accentuates the potent fruit and mineral qualities of this beautiful spirit. Enjoy in a classic Ti' Punch or a refreshing shaken cocktail.
J.M Blanc displays the raw power of what is regarded as the best sugarcane on the island. Extravagant cornucopia of ripening tropical fruit - mango, overripe bananas, and papaya - and a wild, funky earthiness combine for an aromatic explosion; flavors are intensely rich of fresh sugarcane and tropical fruit.
A 1999 vintage rhum agricole from top Martinican producers, Rhum J.M. This particular bottling was distilled in September 1999 and bottled at 42.6% ABV in May 2015.
Golden amber color. Rich, complex, spicy aromas and flavors of pickling spices, honeyed dried tropical fruits, toffee, and creme brulee with a soft, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a tingling, complex, long cola, sandalwood, peppercorns, and leather finish. A superb, complex, aged sipping rum with cascading waves of flavor. - See more at: http://www.tastings.com/Spirits-Review/Rhum-JM-XO-Rum-Martinique-86-Proof-05-01-2016.aspx#sthash.D23TYr3s.dpuf
Rhum J.M Gold displays an intense sugarcane flavor that has beautiful viscosity on the palate. The rich golden color is a simple result from the time it has aged in new toasted oak and ex-Bourbon barrels for a period of 12 months before being blended and bottled. This is a highly versatile rhum agricole that is delicious and charismatic on its own but is also a favorite in tiki cocktails due to its spicy demeanor and higher proof.
This rum from Martinique is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice and aged 4-5 years at the distillery in used whisky and bourbon barrels. Golden brown, with spice, coffee and fig aromas, with vanilla, spice and candied citrus flavors. Very balanced, with a creamy, buttery finish. This is a velvety rum you'll want to sip.
One of the few rums (NB: French spelling rhums) in the world to claim a terroir as the sugar cane is grown in a unique microclimate in volcanic soil on the slope of Mt Pelee on a sloping field with low cloud ceiling and sea breezes, (most sugarcane is grown on flat land on poor soil) on a single estate making it a unique microclimate and small circumscribed geographic area - much like the great houses of Bordeaux, Cognac or Champagne claim weather, soil and geographic demarcations and resulting effects. Another noteworthy point is that it is a Rhum Agricole or made directly from sugar cane juice rather than molasses. Less than 5% of the worlds production of rum is made this way and the process yields a dramatically different product. It is one of a series of rums (which differ in age) the others being Rhum Blanc J.M., Rhum J.M. Paille (Gold),and Rhum J.M Millesime 1997. This particular version is aged in American and French Limuosin Oak casks for at least 4-5 years before bottling.
J.M 80 Proof is perfectly balanced to bring a true and fresh experience to the cocktail experience. The palate entry is preceded with a bulbous bouquet of white pepper and lilies, which give way to grilled pineapples, green banana, raspberry, and warm biscuits throughout the mouth and slowly moves into a long and dry finish.
