Lovely tarnished silver color; pristine purity. First sniffs detect loads of lead pencil, limestone, mineral notes that are supported by dusty dry scents of hemp/rope, flax seed, wax paper; later inhalations encounter more nuanced fragrances of dill, sage, hay/straw, burnt paper, black peppercorn, grass springtime vegetation that are reminiscent of rhum agricole. Entry taste is bittersweet and intensely grassy; midpalate shows a more succulent side as the flavor profile remains juicy, concentrated, and more cedary/piny than fruity or ripe. Finishes medium long, spicy, compact, bittersweet. Exotic, superbly satisfying.
Pound cake aromas on the nose, with hints of caramel and toffee. The mid palate is sweet and sumptuous, while the finish is salty and brandy-like.
