Skadi Aquavit is named for the Norse goddess of bow hunting, winter, mountains, and justice. It honors the many Scandinavians who settled in Montana during the homestead boom of the 1910s. Skadi is distilled from Rocky Mountain Winter Wheat in our traditional copper pot-column still and infused with aromatic botanicals. During our final spirit run, caraway seed, bog myrtle, dried lemon peel and other ingredients are suspended in our vapor basket while a select few of these are placed directly into the pot still. After attentive distillation, the result is this bright but savory spirit handcrafted in the Scandinavian tradition. Enjoy aquavit chilled, with a traditional toast of friendship.

The Whyte Laydie is a harmonious dry gin incorporating Rocky Mountain juniper and a variety of native botanicals with European juniper and the imported ingredients traditional to gin: fresh citrus, orris and angelica root, cardamom, grains of paradise, and more. Working with herbalists and wildcrafters intimate with the Montana landscape, we tested a variety of local herbs friendly to the digestion (as are traditional gin botanicals). We were delighted with bee balm, which lends warmth; yarrow, with its subtle hoppy note; and elder flower, with its classic wine-like sweetness. Our botanical blend is married with Montana’s esteemed wheat and water to produce The Whyte Laydie – as lovely a gin as there ever was.
