Hangar One Vodka Spiced Pear WE ONLY MAKE OUR SPICED pear vodka once a year and in really small batches, combining a vodka blend with the most aromatic pear eau de vie, fresh pear juices and distillates of assorted spices. The vodka embraces the palate like a pear tart: soft, warm and buttery with lots of sweet and bright pear and a hint of clove. We wanted to capture the sensation of caramelized pear juice dripping down the side of a pie pan - a perfect spirit for warming the soul, like a bear hug in a dark forest.
When we were looking to make a blueberry vodka -where we decided to get the blueberries from was a real no-brainer. Over 50% of all wild blueberries come from Maine as the Northeast have come from Maine as the Northeast has the most ideal conditions for harvesting. The beauty of Maine and its lazy summer days truly shines through on this vodka as we distilled it in small batches and blended it with fresh juices to create an irresistible, smooth flavor. And as you might notice, Maine Wild Blueberry does have a purple shade to it, but have no fear! Like our other vodkas, we didn't use any artificial coloring. It's a natural result of the exceptionally potent blueberry skins.
From upper Washington state, the Meeker raspberry makes a startlingly fresh-tasting vodka. Hangar One makes only one batch a year, in June, when the berries are ripe. People get excited about the Fraser River Raspberry vodka because it's just like fresh raspberries, not the bubblegum chemical compound you expect from raspberry flavored products. They don't add sugar. They don't add anything. It's just raspberries and vodka. Hangar One macerate and distill the berries, then blends it in raspberry juice. The juice adds complexity and a natural color. They had a totally fabulous design for our raspberry bottle, but when they put the finished product in it, the fresh juice didn't like the UV rays that came through the clear glass. Now they use a green bottle that gives full UV protection, so we can keep distilling what we think is a truly exceptional spirit.
Hangar 1® Makrut Lime Vodka has bold lime flavors and aromas coupled with notes of wood, white pepper, and cucumber for unmatched complexity. Makrut lime is used in Thai cuisine because of its high aromatic oil content and bold flavor. At Hangar 1®, the lime leaves, which hold the most flavor and aroma, are used. The ancient relative of the modern lemon, Buddha’s Hand Citron has a lower acidity that allows complex flavors and aromas to come through. Mandarin orange blossoms are incredibly fragrant and provide a delicate intensity that suggests the experience of peeling a fresh mandarin. Hangar 1® Rosé is a blend of ultra-premium vodka and real California rosé wine. Hangar 1® vodka is blended with Californian Petit Verdot and White Meritage wine grapes to create a clean, crisp vodka with a slightly fruity and floral note. The Petit Verdot grapes deliver beautiful color and bold tannins while the White Meritage brings a sweet elegance to the palate. The silky mouth-feel finishes fresh with hints of cranberry. Best enjoyed in simple spritzers or cocktails (30% ABV – 60 proof)
