Colour: Orange Gold. Nose: Experiencing the aroma of this fine whisky is an occasion in itself. The flavours engulf the senses like Scottish mist rolling in over the hills. Layers of vanilla oak are interspersed with sweet aromatic wine, a truly wonderful combination. Dried fruits with a hint of cinnamon spice emerge later. A beautifully balanced and mature nose. Taste: The initial toffee sweetness is a joy to behold. Warming rich and hugely satusfying. The taste experience continues with port infused candied dried fruits coming to the fore. The degree of complexity is outstanding, every sip takes you in a slightly different direction. 25 years in the finest ex-Bourbon casks delivers spice and body whilst the finish in Port cask yields complexity and incredible depth of flavour. Finish: The finish is a trip down memory lane. The subtle sweetness slowly disappears only to be replaced with spice, dates and figs. The flavours lingering on the taste buds are a wonderful reminder of what came before. A truly unique whisky which has matured to perfection.
Sweet, full and exceptionally well-rounded, the taste is smooth with a good firm body, meeting the expectations set from the rich, mature nose. The texture is gently oily and mouth-coating with chewy oak tannins. The flavour is initially of toffee, progressing to mint humbugs and barley sugar and followed by a hint of smoke and peat flavours.
A fresh clean nose with hints of apple, pear drops, fresh key lime pie and bubblegum fading to a cinnamon sugar aroma. Carmelised fruit and butterscotch. An elegant whisky with soft mouthfeel and taste befitting this meeting of Speyside and Burgundy. A nutty vanilla comes bursting out with a soft cinnamon spice culminating in a gentle floral finish. Lingering notes of toasted oak.
A fresh clean nose presents hints of apples, pear drops and fresh key lime pie, fading to a cinnamon sugar aroma. A perfect, delicate balance of caramelized fruit, butterscotch and lingering notes of toasted oak, as Speyside meets Burgundy.
