Cava de Oro Tequila Añejo has a rich amber / golden tone, a body of medium velvety weight and a generous mezcal of aromas of honey, nutmeg, black pepper, caramel and toasted oak. The aromatic compounds are very well recreated on the palate, along with the flavors of vanilla, red plums and cinnamon that emerge during the prolonged finish.
Cava de Oro Extra-Añejo is categorized as an Extra Anejo. Type is determined by age, and this spirit is aged for 12 months. Generally, Extra Añejo (extra aged or ultra aged) tequilas are aged for more than three years in small oak barrels. This process creates a dark mahogany colored spirit with rich and complex flavors. The Extra Añejo category was first established in March of 2006.
