Complex, long and perfectly balanced. A perfect partner for a robust cigar.
Adrien Camut 12 Year Old Calvados. Forward aromas of baked apple, honey, cream, spice. Layered notes of smoky green apple in mouth. Displays plenty of depth for its relatively young age. Long, pure finish.
Camut's 6 year old is simply astounding. Camut has always been the benchmark for Calvados, and this new batch of 6 year might now even outshine the immortal 12 year old. Crisp, juicy cider notes mix with a modest amount of barrel aging, all working in perfect unison. The acidity of the apples carries through into the spirit, despite being distilled twice. Apple brandies should have an even balance of fruit and richness, so I tend to prefer the 8- to 12-year-olds more than the older offerings.
