This convivial beer is a deep copper color and boasts smoothness and complexity. A strong ale aged in various port, sherry, wine, or liquor barrels, it boasts big malt flavor with caramel and chocolate notes, with plenty of dark fruit and pecan-like nuttiness as well. There’s also a wonderful tangy flavor that only comes from time, love, and old Belgian secrets. Be careful though! This Abbot is jolly, but he hides the alcohol well behind balanced flavors and complex aromas.
