Five beer enthusiasts with a common passion for historic brewing came together to create this distinct Polish beer style in the most authentic way we can think of after the brewery in Grodzisk Wielkopolski closed in 1993. It is brewed by Jopen and Monarchy of Musselland together with the beer writers Ron Pattinson and Evan Rail. We use 100% oak-smoked wheat malt, have the exact same gravity of 7.7 degrees Plato, employed classic Lublin hops and fermented with the original yeast. As the town once and again today belongs to Poland, but in the meantime was part of Prussia, there are two different names for the style: Grodziskie and Grätzer. Our research found that brewers also formerly used willow bark in brewing which we thought was an interesting variation. That is why we are offering two different takes on the style: a classic version bearing the name "Grätzer"and a willow bark version called "Grodziskie".

Made with the most heavily peated malt in the world from the Bruichladdich distillery. Almost pitch black and opaque, small head. Furiously peated aroma, hiding the malt, licorice and dark chocolate somewhat. Very full bodied, thick mouthfeel, like fluid bread. Dark chocolate, loads of peat, lapsang souchong tea, chocolate cake, culminating in an almost endless aftertaste that also has licorice. Alcohol varies by batch.

Kaapse Jaapie A 9.2% amber colored beer of the Red Ale type. Because of the use of many American hops, this beer has a sweet citrus flavor. This sweet start (passion fruit) then pulls out bitterly. In addition, the bitterness is kept in balance by a light caramel flavor

The third RIS, Rasputin a Belgian IS. Tsarina Esra a Scandinavian/US RIS Now Hel & Verdoemenis, used old malts for this one like brownmalts.

Collab met Cigar City Brewing. This American Blonde is brewed with Wayne Wambles from Cigar City Brewing. It is brewed with loads of fruity aroma hops to give the beer a fruity resiny flavour. Then we added spicy juniper berries and fresh sliced grapefruit and to top it off , we aged it on cedarwood. So many flavours in one glass…

In the old west it was custom to treat crooks, quacks and charlatans with tar and feathers. Then they were driven out of town backwards on their horse or donkey. At least, if you can believe the Lucky Luke comics. Did you know that Louis Pasteur in the beginning of his career was regularly accused of quackery? And now he is regarded as one of the main founders of microbiology. Brewers to this day still much profit from his findings. But we do not like pasteurizing like many large breweries do because that kills the beer. Our Pek & Veren is a beer that is similar to a solid doppelbock with smoke flavour.

Black brown colour with a thick and creamy tan head that can be added to as you wish if you give the bottle a swirl. Give this beer time to breathe and blossom into something truly stunning. Chocolate and alcohol are right there at the front but do not at all overpower the gorgeousness that is underneath. Full of leather, vanilla, amazing wooden notes, beautifully floral character from the hops, thick Belgian chocolate, much character. The flavour of crazy wooden tartness. An extremely bitter finish seems to come out of nowhere and is what really makes this quite unique. Superb width in the mouth and coats the whole palate beautifully."

The Export Porter 1750 is a sturdy Imperial Russian Scout. Brewed to an old English recipe from 1750. Dark, almost black in color. Heavy malt and show in the smell of coffee and bitter chocolate. The name of Emperor Catharina II of Russia is inextricably linked to the style.
