What the Helles is a Landbier? Ours is sweet and golden with a full malty body, inspired by the country lagers of Bavaria. This Pale Bier is our House specialty. From Jack’s House to Your House!

More than any other Hofbräu Original embodies the special atmosphere of the beer-making capital of Munich and exports it to the four corners of the globe. Its refreshing bitter flavour and alcoholic content of around 5.1 volume have made it famous worldwide. A Munich beer with character.

One of the most popular Munich lagers. A perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops. It is a true classic with its clear, gold sparkling hue, crowned by a pure white head. A bier which always goes down well: mild, elegant malts, with a hint of sweetness and a soft hint of hops in the background.

A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes the yellow bright lager, “Weihenstephan Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine poured, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to the centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Spaten Lager is a classic German premium lager, bottom fermented with a supremely well balanced hop flavor.

Hell is German for light. A pale-gold lager with bready malt aromas and flavors, floral hop aroma, and a balanced finish. Finally, a Surly beer my German mother will drink. She says this one tastes like a bier from back home. Not unlike a Zwickel Bier from Germany, Hell is not filtered and fermented with lager yeast. American hops takes a back seat to the Pils malt sweetness and fresh bread aroma. The color is well… hell (Deutsch for light). It’s fiendishly drinkable, and you don’t have to sell your soul to get another.

This light, sweet-finishing, Bavarian-influenced lager will keep you on Wibby Brewing’s patio 30 minutes after you meant to be home from work.

With 150 years of brewing in Colorado, our roots run deep. Holding true to our German heritage, we continue to lager our beer while embracing modern techniques to enhance it. We painstakingly craft our beers over 42 days to bring out the true flavors of each recipe because we believe that beer has a soul. This Helles lager is what started it all back in 1859. It's rich golden hue marks it as a true tribute to the original Munich style of Lager.

The decree states that only four ingredients can be used when making beer: barley, hops, yeast and water. The result is a lager with a crisp finish and a rich golden colour.

In a craft world dominated by hoppy beers, we went back to the basics with Firestone Lager. This may be our hardest beer to make, but it is our easiest one to drink. In the words of Brewmaster Matt Brynildson, “Firestone Lager is made for drinking, not thinking. It’s all about enjoying a good, clean beer.” Crisp and refreshing. A soft mouthfeel with bready malt notes and a whisper of German hop bitterness.

Crisp Helles-style. Soft, aromatic hops and rich nuttiness from the oats

A product of traditional multiple mashing, Andechser Vollbier Hell presents a bright straw yellow and clear gleaming look that cannot fail to fascinate. Its head is firm and fine pored. Its aroma is pure and fresh from the cellar, with soft malty accents imbued with floral hoppiness. Its light and soft body leaves a pleasant, tangy taste in the mouth. The mild sweetness marries well with the velvety bitterness of the hops. It concludes on a rounded, harmonious note. Andechser Vollbier Hell is therefore a classical Bavarian Vollbier (11.5% original extract and 4.8% alcohol by volume).

Beer Geek Helles is a collaboration between Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers and New England Brewing Co. The beer makes use of custom malts by Stone Path Malt, and uses Nelson Sauvin and Hallertau Blanc hops. The brew itself involved a double decoction mash procedure, a traditional German technique that involves the repeated cooking of the wort.

A light, bright and satisfying beer. Golden with a bubbly, medium white head that steadily shrinks to a thin foamy lace. Hell has the aroma of soft sweet grain and flowery hops. Flavored with green apple, full-bodied grain and light hints of pine and herbs, giving it a slight bitterness and crisp finish.

Brewed exclusively with a blend of Weyermann malts, German Noble hops and a yeast strain from one of our favorite German breweries, Edelhell is our take on a German Helles. The harder water in Germany doesn't take well to loads of hops, so the Germans made a less hoppy version of Pilsner that they call "Hell," meaning pale or light in German. This is a smoother, more malt-oriented beer than Pils with just a hint of Hersbrucker hops in the aroma.
