Peroni Nastro Azzurro is an Italian lager beer. Crisp and refreshing with a subtle citrus aroma, this import beer has a 5.1% alcohol by volume. This smooth lager strikes a delicate balance between malt and hops in the aroma, palate, finish and body. It has more body and less hops than a Pilsner, and less malt and more hops than a Munich style lager. 30 IBU.

The brew is exactly how I remember it: a slightly skunky aroma, with a super-buttery mouthfeel and flavor. Some corn-like flavors also come through. It goes down ridiculously fast; I could throw this stuff back for days.

The invention of refrigeration allowed lagers to be shipped long distances. Dortmund, in Westphalia, was the first German city to develop the "Dortmund" or "Export" style of brewing. This beer was first brewed to commemorate one century of brewing in Aying Bavaria, in 1978.

Among the first Hacker Pschorr beers to be exported to the US, Munich Gold is a stronger version of a traditional Helles. This brilliantly golden lager features a medium body, hints of nectarine and golden raisin, and a nose of praline and delicate grain.

“Schlenkerla Helles” is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of Nürnberg. It's lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer.
