Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, the best barrel of the year. The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation. Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.
A blend of 75% young beer fermented in steel tanks and 25% old beer aged 2 year in large oak casks. Rodenbach bears the proud title of the most refreshing beer in the world.
Light Brown in color slight see through. No head. This beer is described as light bodied but it actually is medium bodied nice color, nice aromatic fruity esters emanating from the beer. From the bottle to the pour it looks and acts like a fine wine. Slightly aromatic fruity character. My wife thought it was raspberry. She has a good palate so I listen to her on this. No hop taste, low bitterness, slightly vinegary, sour going in with a slight sweet fruity, oaky finish. The carbonation in the beer highlights and pushes the flavors to last in your palate. Love the complexity of the malts, fruity and tart, oak finish. This is an outstandingly made beer great for company at dinner. Would go outstanding with fish or light meats such as chicken or lamb. I would buy this beer again.
Rodenbach Classic sets the bar for Flemish red-brown ales. This ale owes its sweet and sour fruitiness and refreshing taste to the fact that it is partially matured in oak casks.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.
The brewer allow the beer to macerate with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries. After this maceration in oak, the beer re-ferments in the bottle. The result is RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, an exceptional RODENBACH with fruit maceration and a 7% alcohol volume. The brew is more than unique and extremely exclusive, as only 900 75-cl bottles were produced (first batch). Geunes serves this wilful beer as part of his other unique range of beer varieties in his restaurant, ’t Zilte, at the Antwerp MAS museum.
