Brewing in the land of fire & ice (the Eastern Sierra) since 1995 has brought us to this style of beer, where we use a long intense boil to concentrate color, flavor, and natural sugars. Then, after fermentation, we freeze no more than 2% of the water content out of the beer. This concentrates the alcohol and smooths out the flavor for a true winter seasonal. Like the bliss of a “one swing stick” into ice, this beer will distill your attention down to the single focus of the bend of your elbow. Fire & Eisbock will age well, but do drink one now to compare with our barrel-aged eisbock.
The Sierra wave is a lenticular cloud formation that occurs when specific wind patterns come off the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Essentially, the clouds undulate in a beautiful wavy pattern that can linger over the Mono Basin for hours. This phenomenon is most often seen in late winter and in spring. Sierra Wave Double Cloudy IPA has a plethora of hops that give it aromas and flavors reminiscent of passion fruit, pineapple and citrus. Come to the Eastern Sierra and experience a Sierra Wave sunset along with this fine seasonal brew.
Fearless and bold, our Epic IPA earns its name vanquishing hops at a rate of no less than two pounds per barrel. And yet, this heroic outlaw still achieves a noble balance of clean bitterness, smooth malt, and citrusy hops, making it the perfect sidekick for your next wilderness tale.
An ode to the Owens Valley and the Highway 395 corridor, this Double IPA is distinctly bolder than out Epic IPA and celebrates the aromas of wild local fresh hops, sage, and juniper.
Aged in Heaven Hill barrels.
Reminiscent of coffee and dark chocolate, this dark ale exhibits a mild sweetness and finishing roast dryness. This big ol’ Brown Porter is a Mammoth legend. And what’s nice to know is that no nuts were harmed or used during the brewing of this beer.
