About a hundred years ago, the story goes, German innkeeper Franz Kugler had a problem. The bicycle trail he had created through the woods that led directly to his beer garden was working a little too well, and on a warm June day in 1922, some 13,000 cyclists came rolling in looking for a post-ride pint. Running low on beer, Kugler blended what he had left with a lemon soda he could never seem to get rid of and called it Radlermass (literally cyclist's liter). The rest is history. Using our award-winning Golden Lager as a base, we juiced up our interpretation of this crushable concoction with additions of organic grapefruit juice and a hint of ginger.
Arizona grows some prime peaches. Our Peach Ale's fragrant aroma leads to a crisp flavor and clean finish that carries the perfect amount of weight, making our Peach Ale worthy of warm, sunny days and cool, refreshing nights.
Two decades in the making, our Golden Lager is brewed with some of the world's most celebrated lager yeast for an authentic, elegant flavor befitting the beer's bright color. Grab a pint and drink deep; you just struck gold.
Xe·ro·cole | ˈzirəˌkōl — A name given to animals adapted to live in harsh desert environments. As brewers who also must overcome sweltering heat and lack of water, we feel a kind of kinship with these hardy critters. We designed this beer to live up to our shared ability to thrive in the desert. Flaked oats lend the beer soft, creamy body; Lemondrop, Idaho 7, Denali and Mosaic hops added at carefully chosen intervals give it laid-back bitterness and a flavor dripping with pineapple and juicy citrus. It’s an IPA brewed to help you endure the scorching sun and keep the night going just a little bit longer. Think of each can as your own little oasis.
Dangerously smooth and drinkable, Double Knot is the bigger brother of our IPA, Hop Knot. We actually used more than double the amount of hops that went into Hop Knot, but Double-and-a-Third-Knot sounded weird, so we rounded down. Double Knot has a warming maltiness with a subtle caramel edge, but hops added at seven different intervals during the brewing process are the star of the show.
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie… Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.
A true session beer, our 8th Street Pale Ale is for everyone and anytime. In true English style, we use hop varieties native to the U.K. – giving this brew its earthy, floral aroma – and balance them out with the perfect amount of caramel malt. They say you can't please everyone all the time, but they haven't tried 8th Street.
This is our take on the classic American-style Pale Ale. To create the enhanced hop flavor and aroma with a smoother bitterness, we used a technique called hop-bursting. Here, the majority hops are added in the last 10 minutes of the boil. Melon, Mandarina and Eureka hop varieties impart (unsurprisingly) flavors and aromas of fresh melon, orange and pine.
