Our first unfiltered offering, Summer Swelter Ale is the perfect warm weather beer! Summer Swelter Ale is light and refreshing while still keeping your taste buds interested. The malt base features a hefty dose of wheat for a big, fluffy head and a soft, round body, yet keeps the beer drinkable even during the dog days. The light malt character is more than balanced by a blend of citrusy American hops, giving Swelter a crisp bitterness without being overpowering. The hoppy citrus aroma complements the ingredients that make this beer so unique: lemon and lime peel, Kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass provide an subtle yet unmistakable floral nose and just a touch of bracing tartness, taking the refreshment of Swelter to the next level. Pairs well with: Lobster, Fresh Fish, Shellfish – Fried, Broiled, or Raw; Green Salads, Curried Chicken Salad, Burgers and Hot Dogs, Italian Ice…Did we mention lobster?
Brewed in the style of “steam” beers born in 19th-century California, Tarnation is Baxter Brewing’s first lager. American crystal malts provide light toast and caramel notes along with the beer’s rich amber hue, while Munich malt supplies Tarnation’s malty body. The complex malt notes balance the ample bitterness of American Northern Brewer hops (the signature hop for this style) giving the beer great balance. An authentic San Francisco lager yeast ferments the brew, yielding a clean, crisp and satisfying beer. This lager requires several weeks of cold conditioning (“lagering”), but we think it’s worth the wait.
Pours a black/brown color, takes on a deep mahogany hue when held to the light, pour produced a creamy off white head that left heavy lacing down the glass.
Celebrate our fourth birthday with the flavors of the West Coast and the Far East. In this melting pot we’ve combined Chinook, Mosaic and Sorachi Ace hops with gunpowder green tea and matcha green tea powder. It’s not as formal or traditional as the Japanese tea ceremony, but our Ceremony is steeped in pride and gratitude for our four years making craft beer.
Warning. Producing thundering eruptions of hoppiness. Bursting with the aroma of classic american ipa hops, along with a blast of new Australian hop varietals, Bootleg Fireworks is set to detonate a taste explosion. Though backed up by a light, crisp malt profile, this double ipa isn’t balanced - It’s all about the hops. We packed nearly 6 pounds of green powder into each barrel, and it’s ready to erupt from each can. Boom !
Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning, give this beer its crisp, clean, hoppy finish.
Sometimes there’s a beer, well, it’s the right beer for its time and place. It fits right in there – and that’s Innuendo, in a New England winter. An Imperial White Russian Stout is about as stupefying a concept as your likely to see, pale in color, dark in flavor and warming all over. Brewed with barley, wheat and oats, then fermented with cacao, coffee, vanilla beans and lactose sugar, this heroic beer will take the edge off of whatever plot twist life throws at you.
