“Sette” is short for Settefrati — the town in Italy in the Province of Frosinone, east of Rome, where the Macari family is from. Sette means “seven” and in Italian, Settefrati represents the town of seven brothers. The latest version of this blend sings notes of Italian plums, spiced green olives, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove) and a hint of raw cocoa. The wine is a 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 100% estate fruit from the Macari family farm in Mattituck.
“It is simultaneously soft and easygoing but with a rustic edge that makes you feel perfectly happy to open a bottle with a good pizza or a simple dish of pasta.” — Amy Zavatto, Edible East End
