This wine is fresh and approachable, with silky wild cherry, cranberry, rose and high-mountain sage notes. Hints of sweet oak spices elevate the aromas and linger on the finish. While we made this wine to be more fruit focused than our terroir-focused Chalone Estate wines, it shows the intriguing minerality that is the signature of the Chalone appellation. Winemaker Robert Cook recommends this Pinot Noir with seafood paella, truffle mushroom ravioli, pork medallions served over creamy polenta, roasted turkey with sage stuffing, or grilled salmon.
