Ravens Wood Merlot

Ravenswood's Estate Merlot Vineyard, across the road from the tasting room on Gehricke Road in Sonoma, has been producing beautiful wines for a while now. Replanted in 1993, it is nestled in a slightly warmer pocket in a cool area of the vineyard, which bodes well for merlot. With great varietal character and excellent structure, this wine is very aromatic, spicy and flavorful, with brilliant tannins and balanced acidity. Dynamic and dramatic, with generous flavors of wild dark berries, dark chocolate and hints of smooth vanilla.
