From Italy’s extreme northeast to its southwesternmost island, Sicily; not only do opposites attract but they often share – as in this case – that capacity for creative innovation of extreme, borderland regions. Where the northeastern areas revolutionized white winemaking from the 1970s onwards, Sicily has undergone a major awakening of its quality potential that transformed the island into the country’s new winemaking frontier. The Trentino winery long ago inserted an elegant Sicilian Merlot in its otherwise northeastern white range and this little Mediterranean beauty fits beautifully beside its cool blonde sisters from the Dolomites. Like the rest of the range, it is styled by Franco Bernabei. The gorgeous new packaging is designed by Stefano Riboli.
