Washington's new superstar grape makes a superstar wine. We were stopped in our tracks last week by a terrific wine from a little known producer, the 2015 Hence Cellars Petit Verdot. Impenetrable dark ruby to black color. Mocha, red currant and white pepper spice aromas. Rich and dense on the palate with layers of dark fruit enhanced by lively acidity and supported by dense yet smooth tannins. This wine is simply gorgeous and a steal at this price. 93-94 Arnie points.
