Cachaca, the Brazilian rum, is coming along as one of the most popular "new" spirits, even though it has a rich and long story. Most cachacas, however, are best described as firewater that are barely palatable. This is not the case for one of the newest brands, Sagatiba Pura, an ultra-premium cachaca first released in 2004 and recently (2007) found its way to the U.S. market.
