Knob Creek Quarter Oak is finished in quarter casks for four years--one fourth the size of traditional 52 gallon barrels. The increased surface area with the charred oak accelerates the aging process. The finished product is then blended with Knob Creek.
On the nose, there are notes of brown sweets, char and toasted oak with hints of dried fruits. The palate is slightly sweet with heavy oak, background notes of char and dried fruits followed by a lingering dryness.
