Lo Sbrancato is a rose wine made with 100% estate grown Sangiovese grapes, created because we do not have a white wine in our portfolio and we wanted to introduce a wine that was a bit different from our traditional production.
This is also the reason behind its name. In fact “Lo Sbrancato” is the name of a painting in our tasting room that reproduces a horse that runs away from the herd. And just like the horse of the painting, this wine “runs” separately from the production of our aged red wines.
Grapes: 100% estate grown Sangiovese
Harvest: manual
Vinification: 24 hours of skin contact; afterwards the wine continues its fermentation at 12 °C (54 °F) for 25 days.
Tasting notes: rose color; on the nose it shows floral flavors, red fruits and spices. On the palate, its body and freshness make it an excellent rose with the structure of a young Sangiovese.
Food pairings: excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with seafood, vegetables, soft cheeses.
