Gran Reserva, the highest quality level of a Spanish wine, is produced only during the best vintages and must mature for at least 5 years. This superb example from Rioja, the most famous wine region of Spain, makes the hearts of red wine lovers beat: a ruby red color with light brown reflections, a typically mature and complex nose, aromas of vanilla, spices, leather, berries, plums and tobacco; on the palate, juicy and almost tight with aromas of dark berries and spices, biting and stimulating acidity, powerful tannins and a silky finish. Very tasty when eaten on its own, it also makes an excellent accompaniment for dark meat dishes, mushrooms or ripened cheese.
